Dinan Introduces E9x M3 Engine Software

Dinan E9x M3 Engine Software raises the factory rev-limit from 8300 to 8600 RPM*, endowing the V8 with a broader power band and greater road speed potential in each gear. The software also removes the top speed governor, enabling the cars to attain their ''natural'' top speed; and the V8 will pull right to red-line in top gear! Changes to the throttle mapping help soften throttle tip-in for a sportier feel and improved modulation capabilities. The combination of Dinan's re-calibration of ignition timing, fuel delivery, and cam timing produce a maximum gain of 9 hp @ 6000 rpm and 8 lb-ft @ 6000 RPM. Peak horsepower is increased from 414 to 421 at 7900 RPM. The E9x M3 software will be available at your nearest Authorized Dinan Dealer mid May 2009.

Rev-limit raised from 8300 to 8600 rpm in manual mode only for cars equipped the M Double Clutch Transmission.

Dinan Introduces Black Ceramic Tip Option

Dinan recently announced a black exhaust tip option for the 135i, 335i, M5 and M6 models. The new tips are ceramic-coated stainless steel and are individually laser engraved with “DINAN” for a more aggressive high performance look. Dinan Offers Lightweight Forged Wheels in Black.

Dinan's beautiful 19" spread-forged performance wheels are some of the lightest and strongest on the market at a mere 20 lbs. each. Every surface of the forged wheels is matched, eliminating unnecessary material. Not only do they reduce unsprung weight by a total of 51 lbs (on most BMW models) for superior handling but they also accommodate larger tires for maximum grip and reduction of understeer by bringing the front and rear tire sizes closer together.

Short Shifters for 135 Models

Dinan short-shift kits for 135 models reduce the distance or throw necessary to make gear changes providing a sportier feel. The Dinan short shifters are application specific in order to achieve the appropriate reduction of throw, providing the associated benefits without making the desired gear difficult to locate or require inordinate effort; a common complaint with other manufacturers' short-shift kits where a ''one size fits all'' approach is common. In addition, Dinan's short-shifters retain the nylon pivot ball and shifter bushing, providing the same smooth and quiet operation as the original shifter. Other manufacturer's shifters employ metal components which tend to be noisier and induce a notchy feel. The short-shifter is also rubber isolated for a solid feel and vibration free operation. The Dinan shifter reduces throw by 8%.

Performance tuned springs have been designed to work in harmony with the stock struts and shocks, providing superior handling through increased grip and reduction of body roll, while maintaining a nicely dampened ride.
